GHSA Football Playoffs: Who Plays Grayson High in First Round?

Here’s another example why Class 6A’s Region 8 is one of the toughest football leagues in the Georgia High School Association:

The Grayson High Rams are 9-1 and ranked No. 2 in the state, but they finished only third in the region behind Archer and Dacula.

Those three teams tied for first place in the region, but the tiebreaker favored Archer and Dacula over Grayson, even though the Rams had beaten the Tigers during the regular season (but lost to Dacula).

That all means the Rams will be on the road in the first round of the playoffs this week.

Grayson plays at Mill Creek (7-3), the No. 2 seed from Region 7. Mill Creek is No. 8 in the Georgia High School Daily rankings.

In all, 12 Gwinnett County are playing in the first round of the state playoffs this weekend. The county’s eight representatives in Class 6A face each other in four first-round games Friday.
