Good-bye Rudy’s …. Hello Cooper’s Corner
Formerly known as Rudy's bar, the recently renovated bar is now known as Cooper's Corner Bar & Grill.
We got winners, we got losers,
Chain smokers and boozers.

Broken hearted fools and suckers.
We got hustlers, we got fighters,
Early birds and all nighters.
Back in 1984 Loganville was a lot less populated, with a lot fewer businesses and stores. Along came Joey Decker and his Mother who opened up . It became only the 3rd bar in Gwinnett County that served liquor by the drink after midnight. It soon earned the reputation as a “roadhouse” type of bar with local high school rivalries resolving their differences at the bar after hours. The “bikers” that also frequented the place would actually help break up the fights before the police were called.
That was then, this is now. Jump ahead to 2011 and Rudy’s is now Cooper’s Corner Bar & Grill. A fire on October 10 spurred a make-over of the outside of the building. Inside renovations are still in progress. Doug Butler, the general manager, explained that with the new renovations, they thought it was a good time for an up-graded new image. Thus, Cooper’s Corner was born. The business appears to be thriving.
“We emphasize good, fresh, food at reasonable prices, with an outstanding menu” said Butler. “We also have many different events on different nights to entertain a diverse group of patrons. Tuesdays we have karaoke, Wednesdays is Trivia, Thursday is Ladies night with DJ Syntronik and Friday and Saturday there are local live bands. Every other month or so there will be a top name, nationally known, country band commanding the stage.”
There are HD TVs for sports viewing, big screens for karaoke, and weekly events planned for charity events and bike shows. They also have buzztime trivia which is a wireless game that patrons can play against each other or with other people in bars across the country. Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments are played every Saturday at 4:00 and on Monday nights at 7:30.
The family atmosphere is evident at Cooper’s Corner by the fact it has had the same owner since it opened and the general manager has been there for 18 years. The place has a friendly vibe with all types of people enjoying the atmosphere and events. Even though the name has changed, the owner assured us they will be here for years to come.
There’s something for everyone at Cooper’s Corner Bar & Grill. The customers that come back time and time again can honestly say “I love this bar.”
Cooper’s Corner is located at the corner of Highway 78 (Athens Hwy.) and Cooper Road.
