GPC to Pay Tribute to the "Greatest Generation."

Were you one of those people now referred to as a member of the "greatest generation?" Were you in combat in World War II?  Or do you have memories of being on the home front in that war? If you do, The Newton campus of Georgia Perimeter College would like to hear from you.

All GPC campuses are scheduled to participate in a symposium on World War II during the week of November 7. According to a press release from the Newton Campus, each campus will present public events commemorating and teaching about the war in which Americans who have come to be known as the “Greatest Generation” saved the world from fascist oppression.

Among its events, GPC Newton plans to present an oral history program in which several community residents will share their memories of living through WWII. In order to do this, the college is asking WWII veterans in the Covington, Social Circle or local area to share their experiences. It is also asking those who stayed home to keep the home fires burning to share their stories too - especially if they lived in the local area at that time.
