Grayson lady Rams soccer season ends

In a 1-0 loss to the Roswell Hornets in the first round of the state AAAAA soccer tournament, the Grayson lady Rams season comes to an end.

The lady Rams came up short in the first round of the Class AAAAA state soccer playoffs Tuesday, losing to the Roswell Hornets 1-0.

“We are now finished with our season,” said coach Terry Klinect.

The winning goal was scored by Roswell’s Abby Weinstein late in the first half and, try as they might, the Rams couldn’t come up with a goal of their own.

Klinect said it was tough to lose 1-0, but Roswell is a good team. He said he was disappointed his team wasn’t more successful in the second half especially since he felt the lady Rams outplayed the Roswell Hornets. However, the Rams didn’t manage to come up with any goals, despite the opportunities.

Ranked No. 9 in the state, the Rams finished the season 12-6-1.
