is one of the 13 sites designated statewide for members of the public to review books for future use in technical classrooms.

Since June 27, textbooks and other learning resources for instruction in Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) have been available for review at Grayson High’s technical school.

“The sites will allow the public, including parents and educators, to review and evaluate learning resources that may be used in the classroom over the coming years,” said Matt Cardoza spokesman for the Georgia Department of Education in a press release. Evaluations, review and recommendations are made every six years. This year, the state of Georgia is compiling a list of instructional materials for middle and high school courses for Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE). Educators as well as the public can take advantage of the materials submitted by publishers that have been recommended by the state Learning Advisory Committee.

While standards are set by the state, local systems will determine which resources best meet their particular instructional needs. Input from the public and educators is valuable when finalizing the resources for course study.

The Learning Resources Advisory Committee will meet in late July to make a final list of recommendations which will then need to be approved by the state BOE.
