Grayson Woman Dead, Father In Custody After Shooting

Police have charged Bryon Winborne with murder in the death of his stepdaughter, 26-year-old Kysha Johnson.

GRAYSON, GA -- A Grayson man has been charged with murder in the shooting death Thursday of his 26-year-old stepdaughter.

Gwinnett County Police say an argument led to the shooting at about 4:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Pinehurst View Drive.

They say Bryon Winborne, 43, shot Kysha Johnson, then ran away into the subdivision.

A perimeter was set up around the neighborhood and, within an hour, Winborne was caught without incident, police say.

Johnson was taken to an area hospital and originally believed to be in serious condition, but she did not survive her wounds.

The victim's mother, two teen boys and two young children were in the home at the time of the shooting, police said in a news release. None of them was injured.

Winborne has been booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center, where he faces charges of felony murder and aggravated assault.
