GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — With 98.09 percent of the vote in at 12:50 a.m., and only three precincts with incomplete vote counts, all of the races had been decided in the 2018 primary. Two of Gwinnett’s five commission seats are up for election in 2018. Three Democrats qualified to run for those hotly contested Gwinnett County seats.

Democrat Ben Ku defeated Democrat Desmond Nembhard handily for the Gwinnett Commission District 2 seat, a district that covers much of western Gwinnett, including the Norcross, Peachtree Corners and Lilburn. Ku will now face Republican incumbent Lynette Howard in November’s general election.

Ku is a software consultant and Georgia Tech graduate. He says he is committed to bringing rapid transit and other transportation improvements to Gwinnett County.
