Here are the top stories in Loganville-Grayson today:
- Gwinnett Metro Task Force recently searched a Gwinnett County home during an investigation into trafficking methamphetamine however, the homeowner claims it was a mistake. Ana Jimenez, the homeowner, said that the raid was a mistake as "she has nothing to do with any sale or even consumption of any illegal substance." Jimenez returned home from work on Feb. 9 to thousands of dollars' worth of damage to her home. The task force was formed in 2012 by Lawrenceville, Duluth, Snellville, Lilburn, and Suwanee to combat criminal activity like illegal drugs. Jimenez and her attorney are waiting for a copy of the search warrant before filing a complaint. (WSB Atlanta)
- In an effort to educate the public on procedures when reporting missing persons, juveniles, or runaway juveniles, Gwinnett County has released some information to help answer questions in light of the recent cases of missing Gwinnett County teens. A report can be made on a missing person immediately or at any time, regardless of age, and a uniformed officer will take the missing person report on the scene from the person making the call. The report is then forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Section. Timely and accurate information, reported immediately following the discovery that someone is missing, is critical for law enforcement to conduct a successful investigation. "A Levi's Call, also called an Amber Alert in some states, is used only in cases where there is a confirmed abduction." Levi's Calls are requested through the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and it is their discretion to approve or deny the request. (Monroe Local)
