So why not take advantage of the play date the Home Depot at 2525 Piedmont Road NE, in Atlanta has arranged for the Dad in your life from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 9. The event will be fun for him, and will give you an idea on what will make him really happy this Fathers Day.

According to a press release from the Home Depot, the Tool Test Drive event will have more than 50 tools and almost a dozen vendors on hand to demonstrate “the latest technology in tools, the hottest new items and tools every handy dad should own.” There will be tool challenges, prize giveaways and opportunities to win “The Man Card,” a special Home Depot gift card for Dad on Fathers Day.

According to Home Depot, the following innovations will be showcased.

• Lithium Ion technology is growing in popularity and The Home Depot estimates that 60 percent of cordless power drills sold at The Home Depot will be Lithium Ion tools. The Home Depot wants dads to experience the difference between Lithium Ion batteries and Ni-Cad batteries firsthand during the Tool Test Drive event.
• Brushless motors use energy more efficiently than brushed motors, which means more work per charge and a longer, maintenance-free motor life.

The following products will be available for a special test drive:

• Lithium Ion drills from Ryobi, RIDGID, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Black & Decker, Makita among others
• Lithium Ion outdoor power equipment such as mowers, blowers and trimmers
• Power and hand tools everyone should own for the most basic projects
• Storage options for tools
• Special deals for dads in the Father’s Day gift centers
