Lickity SplitZ Premium Frozen Yogurt Bar Opens in Grayson
A new frozen yogurt bar opened in Grayson on May 25, offering residents a wide variety of frozen dessert options.
A new frozen yogurt bar recently opened in Grayson, giving residents another option for frozen desserts. With flavors like Jolly Rancher Raspberry Pomegranate, which is “very unique and fruity,” according to the owners of , and the popular New York Cheescake, there's a flavor to suit almost every taste.
“All our yogurt flavors carry the Live and Active Cultures Seal (LAC) issued by the National Yogurt Association which is the highest quality and healthiest standard in our frozen yogurt industry,” said Steve Davis, one of the six partners in the yogurt bar. “We have many different flavors to choose from that will be changed regularly.”
Davis invites the community to drop in for free samples and see what flavor suits their taste buds. Lickity SplitZ is the brain child of Davis and his wife, Wendy Lang-Davis. They joined with his parents, Ron and Betty Jo Davis, and his high school friend, Nhan Tran and his wife, Kim, and the six of them set about making Lickity SplitZ a reality. It was looking for the perfect location for the yogurt shop that brought them to Grayson.
“As part of the initial research effort, we scouted a multitude of locations all around the Gwinnett area. Upon visiting the Parkside at Grayson Plaza, without hesitation we fell in love with the patio in the backside of the plaza,” Davis said. “Having Lickity SplitZ facing and in walking distance of the Grayson Park was an added bonus. This is a place where one can feel safe letting their kids run around without worrying about cars and traffic. Our kids love skating and scooting around the plaza."
Davis said they love how the neighboring businesses complement each other with catering for families.
“It’s a one-stop shopping and dining experience,” he said. “Visitors can come over to Johnny’s Pizza for lunch or dinner. For dessert they have the option of hopping towards our shop for frozen yogurt or next door to Parkside Bakery and Café for cakes and pastries. People can walk over to Southern Sisters and Paper Fairy for clothing and accessories or have their hair done at the Salon 124. Our neighbors have been wonderful; we feel very fortunate in being part of the Parkside at Grayson Plaza community.”
Last week, and Lickity SplitZ began their every Saturday evening of live music experience that will run through the summer. It takes place on the patio behind the restaurants (next to the community park) and runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This Saturday “Matt and Austin” are the featured musicians.
“We have plenty of tables and chairs set up with room for everyone to be able to enjoy the music, grab a bite to eat and desserts afterward,” Davis said. “We are very excited about the Music on the Patio and hope that everyone will enjoy it as well. It is a great place to visit with old friends and meet new ones.”
“All of our employees are residents of the Grayson community,” he said. “We strive to make our store an enjoyable and safe place for parents, kids and teens to relax, enjoy frozen yogurt and still have room for the kids to safely run around and have fun. We have music piped throughout the store and free Wi-Fi too. We truly love our new home in Grayson and hope that everyone who visits Lickity SplitZ will feel the same way.”
Davis said they are offering specials to those who work in service to the Grayson community, including a 25% OFF to all uniformed police officers, fire fighters and ambulance personnel. In addition, every Monday children 12 and under or in a local sports league team uniform qualify for a 10% OFF discount, Tuesday all military personnel will get 10% OFF discount and seniors 55 and over also get a 10% OFF discount on a Wednesday.
Although this is their first experience with owning a frozen yogurt store, the owners of Lickity SplitZ believe they have enough experience between the six of them to make it a success. Davis said the most experienced are his parents, who have had three successful retail businesses. They are looking forward to being a part of the Grayson community for many years to come.
