CRIME AWARENESS/COMMUNITY INFORMATION ALERT
Activity date: November 14, 2014 – November 16, 2014
County-wide Safety Checkpoint
The Georgia State Patrol conducted a county-wide safety checkpoint on Saturday, November 15th. There were 20 DUI arrests plus 3 other traffic related arrests.
Zone 1
Arrest – David Mathis was arrested on Hwy 78 near the Grove Wine & Spirits in reference to an outstanding warrant.
Animal Complaint – A realtor was bit by a canine located at a residence on HD Atha Rd.
Extra Patrol – Vehicles were reportedly speeding in the area of Paddock Rd. Extra patrol was requested.
Extra Patrol – Poaching and spotlighting was reported in the area of Rivermist Dr.
Damage – A bullet hole was found in the garage door at a residence on Greendale Rd.

Zone 3
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in the area of the Brush Creek subdivision in reference to copper thefts.
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at Good Hope General on Hwy 83. All windows and doors appeared secure.
Zone 4
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Brush Creek Drive in the Brush Creek subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.
Zone 5
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at Between Grocery on Hwy 78. All windows and doors appeared secure.
Burglary – Several items were taken from the Country Crossing store on Troy Smith Rd. after subjects broke inside the business.
Entering Auto – A wallet was taken from a vehicle parked at Park Place Nursing Home on Bold Springs Rd.
Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested in reference to vehicles parking in the yard of a residence on Bullock Lane.
Extra Patrol – Vehicles were observed speeding in the area of Double Springs Church Rd.
Disorderly Conduct – Maverick Dollson was found to be soliciting without registering with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. He was cited for Disorderly Conduct. This was the second occurrence.
Arrest – Steven Waite was arrested on River Landing Drive in reference to an outstanding warrant.
Arrest – Joshua Garmon was arrested on Maple Ridge Drive in reference to an outstanding warrant.
Arrest – Jody Clay was arrested on Bay Creek Landing in reference to an outstanding warrant.
Zone 6
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a business on Tuck Rd. All windows and doors appeared secure.
Arrest – Derek Meinert was arrested on Sandy Creek Court in reference to an outstanding warrant.
Burglary – The side door of a residence was kicked in on Hwy 78. Several items were taken from the residence. A suspect has been named.
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Mill Court in the Harrison Shoals subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.
Juvenile Problem – Juveniles were reportedly throwing eggs at a vehicle while it traveled on Hwy 78 near Ho Hum Hollow Rd.
Stolen Vehicle – A vehicle was reported stolen on Rosebud Rd. but was later recovered, and according to the owner, the vehicle had not been stolen.
Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Miller Bottom Rd. at Flagstone Way. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. Several citations were issued in reference to suspended licenses and child safety seats.
Zone 7
Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Kent Rock Rd. at Emmett Still Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests were made during the safety check.
Arrest – Tony Taylor was arrested on Park St. at Industrial Parkway in reference to outstanding warrants.
Arrest – John Sidenstricker was arrested on Hwy 81 near Corinth Christian Church in reference to drug possession.
