(Updated) Loganville Student Injured in Fatal I-16 Wreck Moved to New Hospital: Report
Megan Richards was released from Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, but was moved to another facility.

The Loganville nursing student who was injured in Wednesday’s fatal multi-vehicle crash on I-16 near Savannah has been released from the hospital, according to news reports.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Thursday morning that Megan Richards has been treated and released from Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
Later, the family clarified that Richards was move to another hospital for more treatment, and was in stable condition.

Richards was one of two Georgia Southern University students to survive the accident, which killed of her five classmates.
Information on the condition of the other injured student, Brittney McDaniel of Reidsville, was not available.

According to the Statesboro Herald, the accident was a seven-vehicle wreck near mile marker 140, which is about one mile west of the Highway 280 Exit, Bryan County Sheriff Clyde Smith told the newspaper.
In a message to students, GSU President Brooks Keel said the victims, all juniors, of the accident were: Catherine (McKay) Pittman of Alpharetta; Emily Clark of Powder Springs; Abbie Deloach of Savannah; Morgan Bass of Leesburg; and Caitlyn Baggett of Millen.
The accident happened around 5:45 a.m. when a tractor-trailer slammed into traffic that was stopped while emergency crews were working a prior crash involving another tractor-trailer and an RV. That original accident took place around 2 a.m., Smith told the newspaper.
In all, three tractor-trailers, two cars and two pickup trucks were involved in the second wreck.
