Missing Headlight Leads to Walton County Drug Bust

The driver had drugs, drug-related objects and a stolen handgun in his vehicle, officers say.

LOGANVILLE, GA — The Walton County Sheriff's Office has a word of warning for prospective criminals: Before breaking a bunch of laws, make sure your vehicle is in working order.

Recently, a Walton deputy pulled over a driver for a missing headlight. The result?

"He had a very bad rest of his day," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook.

What would have been just a ticket for a busted headlight turned into a laundry list of serious charges.

They included theft by receiving, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, driving with a suspended license and, yes, the headlight violation.

To make matters worse for our motorist, the weapon turned out to be stolen from Baldwin County.
