Photo Gallery: Walnut Grove HS Inaugural Graduation

More than 120 students turned their tassels at Walnut Grove High School's first graduation ceremony on Saturday morning.

Susan Diane Carter was Valedictorian and Joshua Aaron Hendon was Salutatorian for the graduating class of 2011.

Hendon was named the "Star Student" with the highest SAT score and has received more than $120,000 in scholarships and will attend Auburn University in the fall, with a spot in the marching band. Carter was named the "Best All Around Student" and received the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Cup.

Also claiming large scholarship funds are Jennifer Ross who received $83,820 from Johnson and Wales University, Crystal Clark with a $40,000 scholarship from Young Harris College, Taylor Merritt with $24,000 from North Georgia College for softball, and Gia Banks with $19,515 from Jacksonville State University for basketball.
