Police Break Up Fake ID Ring: Report

The group helped prostitutes, strippers pay for cosmetic surgery, say police.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — The Gwinnett police are investigating a fake ID ring in which the participants bought high-end vehicles and other luxury items, according to a media report

The police told WSB-TV Channel 2 that the four suspects from the Sugarloaf area bought IDs from prison inmates and created other fictitious ones to obtain lines of credit. The group also sold the lines of credit to prostitutes and strippers, who used them for breast and other implant surgeries, the police said.

Police recently raided the group's Sugarloaf home and found dozens of IDs. Three of the four suspects are in jail.
