Rep. Woodall Welcomes Bestselling Author to Town

U.S. Army Veteran Luis Carlos Montalván is the author of "Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him."

GCPL welcomes New York Times bestselling author Luis Carlos Montalván, a 17-year veteran and former U.S. Army captain, who will lead a book discussion for “Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him” on Sunday, September 21 at 3 pm at the Georgia Gwinnett College Student Center.

Introducing Montalván at the event will be Congressman Rob Woodall, the U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 7th congressional district.

“Until Tuesday” tells the incredible true story of how a lovable golden retriever transforms a soldier’s life forever.

The event is free of charge and books will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served.

Montalván was decorated with numerous awards including two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, and the Combat Action Badge. In 2007, Montalván honorably departed the military and in 2010 completed a master’s of science from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
