CRIME AWARENESS/COMMUNITY INFORMATION ALERT

Activity date: November 24, 2014 – November 30, 2014

Zone 1
Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check near Ashland Farm Rd. at Cannon Farm Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests were made during the safety check.

Extra Patrol – Suspicious vehicles were observed near Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Damages were reported at the property. Extra patrol was requested.

Arrest – Dylan Blount was arrested for DUI after crashing his vehicle on Wapakoneta Trail at Cannon Farm Rd.

Arrest – Travis Rawlins was arrested on Monroe Jersey Rd. near P J East Rd. for DUI after a traffic stop.

Arrest – Tyler Brent was arrested on Cannon Farm Rd. in the Oak Grove Mobile Home Park in reference to an outstanding warrant.

Suspicious Person – A male subject was observed acting suspiciously around a property on Cannon Trail in Cannon Crossing. The subject was described as a white male with dark blue jeans and a flannel shirt.

Zone 2
Arrest – Shelby Piper was arrested on Knox Chapel Rd. at Sweet Briar Rd. for DUI.
Suspicious Vehicle – A suspicious subject was observed in the area of Sweet Briar Rd. He is suspected of being involved in thefts in the area. The subject was observed driving a camouflage Ford Bronco II.

Entered Auto – A Sirius XM Receiver was taken from a vehicle parked on Hancock Drive.

Damage to Property – A vehicle was damaged after an object was allegedly thrown from another vehicle while traveling on Jersey Social Circle Rd. near H D Atha Rd.

Arrest – Pranav Mahadevan was arrested on Hwy 278 near Oasis Faith Baptist Church for Possession of Marijuana.

Zone 3
Theft or Mislaid Property – An information report was made on Crystal Brook Way in the Crystal Brook subdivision in reference to a missing cellphone.

Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check near Mt. Paron Church Rd. at Harrison Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. One arrest was made during the safety check.

Burglary – A residence on Mt. Vernon Rd. was burglarized. Items were reported missing, including several firearms.

Arrest – James Stapp was arrested on Hwy 78 in Oconee County for an outstanding warrant out of Walton County.

Zone 4
Arrest – Vernon Harris was arrested on N Broad St. for DUI after a traffic stop.

Suspicious Person – A white elderly man was observed walking in the area of Smokerise Drive carrying a firearm. No contact was made with the subject.

Zone 5
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to a business on Hwy 78 in reference to an alarm. The business was checked and all doors and windows appeared secure.

Found Property – A safe was found in the woods near Old Braswell Rd. It appeared to have been forced open.

Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check near June Ivey Rd. at Mitchell Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. One arrest was made in reference to drugs.

Entered Auto – A vehicle parked on Brooks Trail in the Alcovy Bluffs subdivision was entered. An IPad and wallet were taken from the vehicle. The wallet was later found by the Monroe Police Department.

Firearms Complaints – Several firearm complaints were made on Piney Grove Rd. and Grady Smith Rd. Firearm shots were being discharged in the area.

Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check near Bay Creek Church Rd. at Old Zion Cemetery Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests were made during the safety check.

Vehicle Accident – A subject was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical after a single vehicle accident on Hwy 81.

Arrest – Marty Humphries was arrested for DUI after a traffic stop on Hwy 81 near Rock Rd.

Arrest – Tommie Shaw was arrested for DUI on Bold Springs Rd. at Hwy 11.

Damage – Two juveniles were observed throwing mud onto a vehicle on Grady Smith Rd. in Garden Springs. A window on the vehicle was also broken. The juveniles were charged with Criminal Trespass.

Arrest – Coraliss Gregory was arrested for DUI on N Broad St. at the Golden Pantry.

Found Property – A Huffy Trail Runner was found on the side of the roadway on Hwy 11 at Friendship Church Rd. It was turned into the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

Zone 6
Arrest – Steven Clark was arrested on Harris Drive in reference to two outstanding warrants.

Theft – Several items were taken from the Econo Store on Highway 81.

Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to a business on Hwy 78 in reference to an alarm. The business was checked and all doors and windows appeared secure.

Burglary Attempt – The window pane to Jerry’s Corner Store on Miller Bottom Rd. was broken.

Suspicious Person – Extra patrol was requested in reference to a suspicious person walking in the area of Rock Court in the Centerhill Station subdivision.

Safety Checkpoint – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check near Hwy 20. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No arrests were made during the safety check.

Suspicious Person – An unknown subject rang the doorbell to a residence on Windermere Drive in the Hidden Creek subdivision then ran away from the residence.

Agency Assist – Walton County deputies responded to a Strong Armed Robbery at the Quik Trip in Loganville.

Arrest – Robert Smith was arrested on Broadnax Mill Rd. at Hwy 78 in reference to drug possession.

Zone 7
Animal Complaint – A pit bull canine on Wagon Trail was observed running loose onto other properties in the area. The owner was issued a citation from Animal Control. Extra patrol was requested.

Burglary Attempt – Extra patrol was requested on Cooper Ridge Drive in the Cooper Ridge subdivision in reference to underdeveloped homes being entered.

Theft – Items were taken from a residence on Wagon Trail. A suspect has been named.

Theft – An AC unit was taken from a residence on Cook Rd.

Arrest – Stephen Anderson was arrested on Hwy 81 at the EZ Stop for Loitering and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
