Teen Arrested In Deadly Loganville Parking Lot Shooting

Police are now saying they believe the Saturday night shooting was drug related.

LOGANVILLE, GA — A 17 year old from Stone Mountain has been arrested in the Saturday shooting death of another teen in Loganville.

Terrance Elisha Thornton was arrested Sunday and booked into Gwinnett County Jail shortly before 6 p.m., charged with murder and armed robbery.

Gwinnett County Police say Thornton is one of as many as three suspects in the shooting death of 19-year-old Jacquorrius Madison.

The shooting is now believed to be drug related, police said Monday.

Gwinnett County Police arrived at 5:50 p.m. Saturday at the 4600 block of Grove Lake Street to find Madison suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The location is a parking lot for the neighborhood's pool and tennis area, police said. EMS transported Madison to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

A 911 caller told authorities that a group of teens had been fighting in the area.

Detectives are continuing to search for two other suspects in the case.
