of Grayson was humbled to share an honor bestowed on it by one of our beloved families this week. Dalila Harris is one of our smart and spunky 3- year-olds who loves to dance and always has a smile for everyone who says hello. She has been in our school since she was just about 1 and a half years old.
The reason that we are so honored to have this family in our school is that both of Dalila’s parents serve our country in the U.S. Army and most recently her mother has been serving our country overseas as part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq. Recently Dalila’s mother, Jennifer Harris, nominated Kids ‘R’ Kids #49 for an incredible honor that brought tears to all of our eyes.

On the 10th anniversary of September 11th, Kids ‘R’ Kids #49 had an American Flag flown at Camp Sabalu-Harrison in Afghanistan in recognition of our support for their family over the years. Dec. 1 Dalila’s parents surprised us by stopping by to thank us in person and presented us with a flag in a beautiful display case and a Plaque of Recognition which stated, “in recognition of your steadfast support, loyalty, and dedication to all the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines in their continuing effort to ensure the memories and your fallen comrades will never be forgotten, as we continue to rid the world of tyranny, oppression, and terrorism.”
We were so humbled, and moved beyond words, as we know firsthand that this couple puts their lives in harm’s way to protect our country on a daily basis and here there were thanking us. There are no words to describe our humblest gratitude for this special honor.
