Walton County Sheriff's Report: Theft Reports Include Power Tools, Yeti Coolers ... and Pigeons

LOGANVILLE, GA — The Walton County Sheriff's office shares incidents of interest with the public.

Here are some of the calls the sheriff's office handled recently in the Loganville area.

Wednesday, July 20

Prowler / Trespassing – A resident on Hwy. 11 reported someone repeatedly trespassing on his property. Walton County deputy checked area. No contact.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy. 81 and Bold Springs Road. Deputies checked for required driving criteria: Driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. One arrest as a result of the safety check. Joshua Lynn Herndon was arrested for Theft by Shoplifting and Theft by Deception.

Illegal Burning – Complaint of Illegal Burning on Hwy. 20. Resident will be issued citation for Littering.

Tuesday, July 19

Arrest – Anthony Mathis was arrested for Terroristic Threats and Acts and Disorderly Conduct following an incident at a residence on Mountain Creek Church Road in Mountain Creek Mobile Home Park.

Theft Report – A tool box was taken from the bed of a truck of a residence on Maple Creek Lane in Maple Creek Subdivision.

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Bold Springs Road and Charleston Avenue. Deputies checked for required driving criteria: Driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. No citations issued or arrests made.

Fire Assist – The Walton County Sheriff’s Office assisted Walton County Fire Department with a house fire that was fully engulfed in flames on New Hope Church Road.

Accident – A two-vehicle accident with minor injuries occurred on Hwy. 11. Walton County Sheriff’s Office handled the accident.

Accident – A two-vehicle accident occurred on Bold Springs Road and Alton Green Roadd. Georgia State Patrol handled the accident.

Burglary Report - Resident on Bay Creek Church Road reported that the back door to his residence was open when he returned home. Walton County deputy arrived on scene. The back door seemed to have been pried open. Nothing reported taken from residence. Incident occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on July 19, 2016.

Theft Report – Resident on Etchison Road reported fifteen purebred homing pigeons were stolen. Incident occurred between 6 p.m. on July 18 and 7 a.m. on July 19.

Arrest – Jonathan Brakhage was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Jackson County at a residence on Hwy 20.

Accident – A single-vehicle accident occurred on Green Road. Georgia State Patrol handled the accident.

Monday, July 18

Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy. 81 and Forest Falls Drive. Deputies checked for required driving criteria: Driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. One citation was issued as a result of the Safety Check. Casey Gonzalez was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana less than an Ounce.

Arrest – Carlos Montes-Tapia was arrested for Driving with a Suspended License in the area of Hwy. 81 and Double Springs Road following a traffic stop.

Theft Report – Residents at a residence on Bay Ridge Drive reported various motorcycle accessories and power tools were taken. Incident occurred sometime between 6:20 a.m. and 4 p.m. on July 15

Theft Report – Resident on Claude Brewer Rd. reported two YETI coolers stolen.

Threats – Resident on Plantation Ridge Court reportedly has received several phone calls from a foreign male subject stating he was from the IRS. Male subject reportedly stated he was going to sue her and her husband for taxes owed. Male subject told resident he was going to sexually assault her then kill her since she was not going to give him any money. Extra patrol for this residence.

Accident – A two vehicle accident with injuries occurred on Hwy. 20 at Centerville Rosebud Road. Georgia State Patrol handled the accident.
