(Expired) Weather Alert: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Loganville

The severe warnings for Tuesday have expired.

Parts of Gwinnett County to the west are under an extended warning until 9:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Gwinnett County until 9 p.m.

Parts of Barrow, Hall, Jackson and Forsyth counties are also in the warned area.

At 8:11 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located in the Gainesville area and moving southeast at 35 mph.

Wind gusts to 60 mph have been reported.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for a large area in north and central Georgia until 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The watch covers all of metro Atlanta and north Georgia, including Gwinnett and Walton counties.

Storms moving south into Georgia from Tennessee could bring damaging winds, frequent lightning, large hail and heavy rain later tonight, the weather service said.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of severe weather.
