Local emergency agencies responded, and the investigation has now been turned over to the FAA and NTSB, with no further details released yet.

• Toombs to Send Homestead Property Tax Relief to the Ballot (theadvancenews.com) — Toombs County leaders are moving to put a new Local Homestead Option Sales Tax on the November ballot, which could bring property tax relief for homeowners as early as 2027. Commissioners also secured added safety features at State Route 15 and Lyons Center Road, approved an emergency distribution plan, and addressed concerns about data centers, zoning, and hurricane-related insurance and reimbursements.
