1 Injured, 1 In Police Custody In Marietta Hotel Stabbing
The two men engaged in an altercation, which led to the overnight stabbing, a media report says.
MARIETTA, GA — A man was injured, and another man is in police custody, after a Thursday night stabbing at a Delk Road hotel, Marietta Police said Friday.
The stabbing happened around 11:15 p.m. and resulted from an altercation between the two men in a hotel room that they were sharing.
Police said when officers arrived, the suspect was calling 911 though he had changed his clothes and refused to give his location. The man who was injured was inside of the hotel with a single stab wound in his abdomen, police said.

Samir Bennett, 23, was found in the hotel lobby and was taken into custody in connection with the stabbing, police said.
He was charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a crime and obstruction/hindering law enforcement, police said.

The man who was injured was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment.
