1 Teen Dead, Another Seriously Injured After Cobb County Crash

In a Cobb County crash on Sunday one car caught on fire. Both were driven by teenagers. A teen died, another is being treated for injuries.

COBB COUNTY, GA — A two-vehicle collision on Sunday in Cobb County left one teen girl dead and another seriously injured, said police.

The crash happened around 7:15 p.m. on Jamerson Road at Nevilly Way.

According to Cobb County Police, 17-year-old Kayleigh S. Neste of Kennesaw was driving a white Nissan when she lost control of the car and crashed into a Kia. The Nissan caught on fire from the hit and bystanders helped pull the Kia away from the burning Nissan.

The driver of the Kia, a 16-year-old female was trapped inside, but was rescued by fire personnel and transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Neste was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where she later passed away.
