16 Marietta groups honored with $1,000 Days of Giving grants as program exceeds $1 million in contributions in Atlanta

Sixteen Marietta non-profits were honored by Wells Fargo team members with $1,000 Days of Giving donations on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Wells Fargo also announced that its employees gave or pledged $1.46 million this fall in the United Way and Community Support campaign – 13 percent more than last year.

In all, 68 groups received $1,000 checks Tuesday at a community breakfast at the Mansour Center in Marietta.  Three additional breakfasts will occur in the next two weeks and some 240 groups in all will receive the same gift.

With the program in its fifth year, giving in Atlanta will exceed $1 million this fall.

All the groups were selected by frontline team members in bank offices in the West Atlanta area for the work they are doing locally.

“Just read the names to get a sense of the great work these groups are doing,” said Jim Lawrence, West Atlanta area president.

“We are doing our best to be a great local bank, and this is a cornerstone of our local giving and volunteerism,” said Michael Knowles, business banking area manager for West Atlanta.

The following Marietta groups received $1,000 grants.
