17 Arrested In 'Teen Takeover' At The Battery Atlanta

Two juveniles face gun charges after a "teen takeover" erupted at The Battery Atlanta and in the Cumberland area.

ATLANTA, GA — At least 10 juveniles were among 17 people arrested during Saturday's "teen takeover" at The Battery Atlanta, and two of them face gun charges, Cobb County Police said Wednesday.

The large gathering of dozens of teenagers exploded amid mass chaos in the Cumberland area of Atlanta, forcing law-enforcement agencies to react.

Patrol vehicles were spread out among a portion of Spring Road and Cobb Parkway, and lined the sidewalks and the streets.

CCPD made note these charges do not include those made by other law-enforcement agencies.

WAGA-TV Evening Reporter Annie Mapp shared multiple video clips at the gathering.

Officers are gearing up for more of these events set to happen this weekend at Cumberland Mall and in two weeks at Six Flags Over Georgia, WSB-TV reported.

This all comes after another teenage gathering in December 2025 at Atlantic Station, where Atlanta Police say juveniles fought, fireworks were ignited and a shooting damaged local businesses.

"While peaceful gatherings are lawful, disruptive behavior, criminal activity or damage to property will not be tolerated and will be addressed appropriately. We encourage parents and guardians to remain aware of their children’s whereabouts and activities," CCPD said.
