2 Construction Workers Hit By Car In Marietta

The construction workers were hit by a car Sunday near Roswell Road and had life-threatening injuries.

MARIETTA, GA — Two construction workers had life-threatening injuries Sunday after being hit by a car near Roswell Road and the Interstate 75 overpass, Marietta Police said.

Police said a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta hit the construction workers and a message board around 1:45 a.m. The two men were outside of their construction vehicle and were setting up a traffic directional board for a lane closure when they were hit, police said.

The Jetta, which was traveling eastbound on Roswell, failed to yield to the lane closure, police said. The driver stopped at the scene then ran from the area before first responders arrived, police said. The driver was not identified.

Both construction workers were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, police said.
