MARIETTA, GA — A man and woman from Marietta were killed in a fiery crash Sunday afternoon on Powers Ferry Road.
Ryan Michalski, 31, and Miraylla Sousa, 23, were both taken to Kennestone WellStar Hospital after the crash, which happened at about 4:10 p.m. on Powers Ferry near Meadowbrook Lane. Both were pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to Cobb County Police, witnesses said Michalski was driving his black, 2006 Ford Fusion "well above the speed limit" and had been passing other vehicles in the center turn lane before the crash. He entered the southbound lane in the path of Sousa's 2013 Kia Optima and they crashed — causing both vehicles to spin out.
