2 Marietta Crashes Occur Minutes Apart, Cause Multiple Injuries
Both crashes took place Sunday in the general area of Interstate 75 and South Marietta Parkway.
MARIETTA, GA — Multiple people were injured in two car accidents that occurred minutes apart in the same general area Sunday, according to Marietta Police.
A 31-year-old Acworth man was seriously injured in the first crash, which happened just before 10 a.m. on Interstate 75 south near South Marietta Parkway.
The man was driving a 2003 Acura RSX on I-75, where he lost control of his car and caused it to rotate across three lanes before hitting a cement wall, police said.

The Acura flipped multiple times before coming to a rest upside down, police said. The man was seriously injured and taken to Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center.
A second crash, which also occurred shortly before 10 a.m. on South Marietta Parkway at I-75, involved four cars, one of which overturned. Police said multiple people had injuries that were not life threatening. Police did not say what caused the crash.

"While large in nature, non-life-threatening accidents like this happen more than the public would realize. We are fortunate that Marietta patrol officers on shift are equipped to handle scenes like this," police said in a news release.
