23 People Displaced In Marietta Apartment Fire

MARIETTA, GA — Nearly two dozen people were displaced Wednesday morning after an apartment fire in Marietta.

Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services crews arrived at about 9:35 a.m. to reports of a fire at Crestmont Apartments, in the 500 block of Williams Drive just off of Bells Ferry Road near Cobb Parkway. According to the fire department, the blaze appears to have started in a second-floor unit.

There were no injuries reported in the fire, which firefighters got under control in about 20 minutes. But an estimated 23 people were displaced due to fire, smoke and water damage to at least five units in the apartment building.

Investigators were still working Wednesday afternoon to determine the cause of the fire.
