3 Adults, Juvenile Charged In Marietta Shooting And Crime Spree

A second juvenile charged in an armed robbery and shooting remained at large Wednesday, police said.

MARIETTA, GA — Three adults and a teenager accused in a suspected crime spree that ended in a shooting are now facing multiple charges with one juvenile remaining at large, Marietta Police said Wednesday.

Police accused the group of bringing a crime spree from DeKalb County into Cobb County on Sunday in a stolen vehicle.

The group was accused of then breaking into and damaging eight parked vehicles around 5:15 a.m. at a Roswell Road auto repair business.

Afterwards, the suspects confronted two people at the parking lot entrance of a Delk Road motel, where a man was dropping off a friend, police said.

Police accused the group of pointing handguns at the two people and demanding money. Multiple suspects fired shots, hitting the man's vehicle 14 times, police said. One of the bullets hit the man in the head as he was driving away from the scene, police said.

Police said "miraculously," the bullet did not penetrate the man's skull. The status of his condition is unknown.

Giovanni Bown, 19, of Lithonia, and Alijah Carter, 19, of Decatur were both arrested last week and charged on suspicion of 12 separate felony charges, police said.

Khalil Lloyd, 17, of Atlanta, was arrested Wednesday by the DeKalb County Police Department. Lloyd was charged on suspicion of 12 felony charges for crimes in Marietta, police said.

Police said charges include two counts of felony attempted armed robbery, two counts of felony aggravated assault with a weapon and eight counts of felony criminal damage to property.

"If not for the seamless cooperation between agencies, these individuals may still be committing acts of violence across metro Atlanta," police said in a news release.
