2 Injured In Marietta 2-Car Crash

A driver failed to maintain a lane near a curve and crashed into a car in Marietta.

MARIETTA, GA — Two people were injured early Thursday morning in a two-car crash around 5:45 a.m. at Fairground Street, near the Fort Street intersection, Marietta Police said.

A 24-year-old Lithonia woman was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Impala on Fairground and failed to maintain a southbound lane near a curve, hitting a 2008 GMC Sierra head-on that was traveling northbound, police said. The Sierra was being driven by a 21-year-old Smyrna man.

The woman suffered minor injuries while her passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, had serious injuries, police said. They were taken to the Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the Sierra did not have visible injuries, police said. It is unknown if the driver suffered internal injuries due to the crash.
