COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County police are sharing tips with residents when it comes to keeping packages from being stolen. Some of the tips include sending the packages to your job or a neighbor instead of leaving them outside your door.

“We have all seen the video doorbell camera videos that show someone stealing packages from the front steps of someone’s home,” they posted on Facebook. “Makes you mad doesn’t it? Us too! What can be done to combat this?”

1. Have your packages delivered to your work.
2. Have your packages delivered to a secure lock box (Amazon, UPS, etc.)
3. Track your packages.
4. Have delivery confirmation set up for your packages.
5. Not going to be home? Have your packages delivered to a neighbor.
6. Use a camera system or video doorbell.
7. Don’t leave packages sitting outside. Take them in as soon as you can.
8. Leave delivery instructions for asking for items to be placed off to the side, if possible, instead of in front of your door.
