1 Dead, 3 Injured In Marietta Blaze
A child was among those who were injured Wednesday in the Merry Oak fire.
MARIETTA, GA — An older woman died in a Wednesday morning fire that injured three other people in the 1700 block of Merry Oak Road, according to Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.
The fire department said the woman was one of three people pulled from the fire. A fourth person was outside of the home when crews arrived at the scene.
One of the four people injured in the fire was a child, fire officials said.

When crews arrived around 5:30 a.m. to the home, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the front and left sides of the house. They were told three people were inside while a fourth person escaped the fire.
Fire officials said firefighters used ladders to enter windows on the front and back of the house due to the intense amount of fire coming from the front door. Crews aggressively worked to attack the fire at the front door.

Firefighters found three people inside and brought them out of the windows, fire officials said.
Three people were taken to a hospital due to smoke and fire injuries while a fourth person was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the escape, fire officials said.
