Local Church Offers Class Discussing Our Understanding of Jesus to the Community

Do you *really* know Jesus or who you're told He is? Explore Jesus over time with a class offered by John Knox Presbyterian Church. All are welcome!

Christians all over the world are preparing for one of the most Holiest times of year. We celebrate a man who saves us from the unknown…a man who gives us hope and peace that life eternal is possible with God. But do we really KNOW Him? Do we really know Jesus, or do we simply have glimpses of who we are told He is?

John Knox Presbyterian Church (on Powers Ferry Road in Marietta) is exploring this very subject with a class. Pastor Fritz Bogar will be teaching “Jesus of History, Christ of Faith” on Wednesday’s beginning on February 20th until May 8th.

“This spring we will explore the fruits of the Twentieth Century quest for the real – sometimes described as the historical – Jesus,” says Fritz. “At each step along the way we will ask about what we know about Jesus. Where does such knowledge come from? Is this knowledge reliable? Can a better, more accurate, more rounded knowledge of Jesus reinforce our faith?  Challenge our faith? Redirect our faith? Or does it make faith superfluous?”
