City Of Marietta To Hold Public Hearing On FY21 Budget

MARIETTA - The City of Marietta will hold a public hearing on the Recommended Fiscal Year 2021 Annual Budget, which begins July 1, 2020, on Tuesday, June 3, 2020 at 6:00 pm in the Council Chamber located at 205 Lawrence Street, Marietta, GA.

The general fund budget funds general government services including police and fire services, parks and recreation programs, code enforcement, planning and development, and streets and public works maintenance. The General Fund budget is $61.20 million.

The City’s overall FY 2021 budget is $ $326 million. The millage rate will be reduced from 5.369 mils in FY 2020 to 5.117 mils for FY 2021.

Due to COVID-19, the number of in-person attendees at the hearing is limited. The public is welcomed to attend but due to social distancing guidelines, seats will be limited. The public can participate in the hearing virtually as well by visiting this link with the following information:

City staff will present a brief overview of the budget, and citizens may comment and ask questions at that time in person or via the virtual link. The Marietta City Council will consider the budget for approval at its regular scheduled meeting on June 10, 2020 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chamber.
