Closed Wal-Mart Reopens As Farmer's Market

City Famer's Market, now open in Marietta, specializes in Asian foods and has locations in Chamblee and Brookhaven.

MARIETTA, GA — A vacant building in Marietta that had once been a Walmart has reopened as a farmer's market specializing in Asian foods and other goods.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that City Farmer's Market is opened Friday at the location at 1167 Powder Springs St. An assistant manager at the market's Chamblee location confirmed the opening date.

The Walmart closed on Dec. 4, putting nearly 70 people out of work, according to the AJC. City Farmer's Market carries fresh produce, but also a wide selection of ingredients traditionally used in Asian and Hispanic cuisine.
