Cobb Animal Shelter Nearly Full; Dogs, Cats Desperately Need New Homes
Unless they are adopted, many of the dogs and cats now living at the shelter will have to be put down.

MARIETTA, GA — The Cobb County animal shelter is nearly full, and many of the dogs and cats living there will soon have to be euthanized unless they find homes.
Shelter managers told 11 Alive that the summer months are when the facility becomes most crowded.
"It's right after spring, and that's mating season for cats and dogs so we have a lot of puppies and kittens turned in and we just get overblown," said Shana Luke. "Dogs stay pretty busy all year long, we're pretty full, but cats, during the spring and summer, we just get litters and litters and litters."
