Cobb County Fire To Celebrate New Fire Station With Open House

MABLETON, GA — The public is invited to an open house to help Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services celebrate the opening of Fire Station 1. The new station is located at 5781 Mableton Pkwy. S.W.

The open house is planned Jan. 11. Festivities kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade from the old Station 1 at 5656 Mableton Pkwy. S.W. to the new facility, followed by an opening ceremony at 11:45 a.m. The open house starts at noon.

The station was built for an estimated $4.4 million, using land already owned by Cobb County.

To fund the project, the Cobb County Board of Commissioners in 2018 authorized the use of $3.3 million in 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Salex Tax funds and $1.1 million from the Fire Fund’s Fund Balance, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
