Cobb County Schools Make Call On Wednesday Classes
Snow and dangerous wind chills were forecast for much of north Georgia late Tuesday going into Wednesday morning.

MARIETTA, GA — Cobb County schools will be closed for both students and staff on Wednesday, Jan. 17, due to the weather.
In a social media post Tuesday night, the school system said the closure is due to road and travel conditions.
Snow had begun falling in parts of Cobb County on Tuesday afternoon and the forecast called for more snow and dangerous wind chills

The National Weather Service on Tuesday issued a winter weather advisory starting at 5 p.m. in most of metro Atlanta. And, at 9 p.m., a wind chill advisory goes into effect, when the temperature could drop to 15 degrees and gusty wind could make it feel as low as -5 degrees in some parts of north Georgia.

Earlier Tuesday, Cobb schools had canceled all after-school activities.
