Cobb Deputy Struck By Vehicle
The officer was injured early Monday morning when he approached two suspects who had broken into a vehicle.

MARIETTA, GA -- A Cobb County sheriff's deputy was injured Monday morning when he was struck by a vehicle. Just before 4 am, the deputy was monitoring security video when he observed a suspect vehicle pull near their building at 32 Waddell Street and appear to break into a parked vehicle. The deputy walked outside and confronted two suspects who attempted to flee the area. One suspect ran on foot while another got back into their own vehicle and maneuvered aggressively toward the deputy, striking him with the vehicle.
The deputy drew his agency issued duty weapon and fired toward the suspect vehicle during the incident.
The officer has been transported to Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Marietta detectives are working the investigation.
