Cobb Fire Gets New State-Of-The-Art Indoor Training Gym
Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services has a new 6,500-square-foot indoor Physical Ability Test (PAT) training gym.
COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services has a new 6,500-square-foot indoor Physical Ability Test (PAT) training gym, announced the fire department on Tuesday.
The new facility is only one of a few in the country where year-round physical ability tests can be conducted for both re-hire applicants and incumbent firefighters in a climate-controlled environment.
CCFES says the new PAT gym also allows for them to focus on their cancer prevention initiative.

“Though being out of the elements is important, an even more beneficial feature of having a dedicated indoor facility is that CCFES can utilize clean equipment, free of potential carcinogens that can adhere to primary equipment,” CCFES said in a news release. “Cancer prevention and associated training is paramount to all members within CCFES.”
