Cobb Police Investigating Homicide Outside Marietta Restaurant

MARIETTA, GA — A Kennesaw man was shot and killed, and his wife was injured, in a Friday night shooting in the parking lot of a Marietta restaurant.

According to Cobb police, Anthony and Cynthia Welch, both 48, were walking to their car in the parking lot of Pappadeaux, located on Windy Hill Road, when they were approached by a man. After shooting the couple, the suspect fled the area on foot.

Both victims were transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where Anthony Welch was pronounced dead on arrival. Police expect his wife will survive her injuries.
