Cobb Police Shoot, Kill Marietta Man Who Lunged At Them: GBI
A Marietta man who authorities said was armed with a knife was killed in the police shooting.

MARIETTA, GA — Cobb County officers shot and killed a Marietta man they say lunged at them with a knife Wednesday while they were investigating a report of domestic violence, according to the GBI.
Anton Washington, 22, died at Kennestone Hospital, the GBI said, noting no officers were injured.
Officers responded around 8:15 p.m. to the 1000 block of Sandtown Road, where authorities said Washington lived.

The GBI said he initially put the knife on the floor as officers told him to, but then he picked up the knife and lunged toward an officer.
The GBI is investigating the shooting.
