Cobb Schools Make Decision On Friday Classes

Schools has previously been closed Wednesday and Thursday in Cobb County after a winter storm.

MARIETTA, GA — For the third day in a row, Cobb County public schools will be closed on Friday.

In a post Thursday afternoon on its website, the school system said both students and staff would be staying home again "due to hazardous road and travel conditions throughout the county."

A winter storm dumped snow and ice on much of metro Atlanta late Tuesday and early Wednesday and freezing and near-freezing temperatures, combined with bitterly cold wind chills, prevented frozen roadways from thawing in some areas.
