Kindergarten and first graders are invited to a July 29 ride along.

MARIETTA, GA — The Cobb County School District bus routes for the 2016-2017 school year are now available on the CCSD website.

Bus runs and maps will be posted at local schools for review prior to the first day of school.

Kindergarten and first grade students along with their parents are invited to ride the bus on Friday, July 29 as a practice run prior to the first day of school on Monday, August 1. Buses will run at regular scheduled morning pick up times and parents and students should be at the bus stop at least five minutes early. They should check the CCSD website for bus route information.

Due to limited space, the district asks that parents limit the number of additional family members riding.

Only school-age children are allowed to ride, as our regular buses are not equipped with car seats. The bus will follow the planned route to school and then return back to the bus stop. If a school has a planned Sneak-a-Peek upon arrival, the driver will deliver the families back home upon completion of the event.

A yellow tag will be issued to children who are eight-years-old and younger. Parents should attach the yellow tag to the child’s book bag. This tag will help CCSD Transportation Staff quickly identify younger bus riders, adding another safety net for transportation of students. The yellow tag must remain on the book bag on the top strap and visible to the driver at al times. For safety purposes, parents should no not write or remove the tag.

Due to extreme heat, during the months of August and September, all students may bring water in containers with a screw on lid to drink on the bus. This will serve as an extra precaution for hydration.
