Cobb Sheriff Warns Of Jury Duty Scam
The sheriff's office is warning the public about a scam in which the caller claims to be with the sheriff's office.
COBB COUNTY, GA — The Cobb County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a scam in which the scammers use jury duty to pressure their victims.
The phone call shows as a local number, the sheriff said in a social media post, and has a recording saying the call is coming from the Cobb County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff clarified that "We DO NOT contact you by phone in reference to any warrant or jury summons."

Authorities say the callers are convincing, but they are scammers attempting to get victims' information.
The sheriff's post says that if you get one of these calls, just hang up and block the number, if possible. Also, call the sheriff's office at 770-499-4725.
