Warehouse Of Gator Heads Burned Down Friday In Cobb
A warehouse in Cobb County full of plastic gator heads caught fire Friday morning, but officials aren't worried about toxic runoff.
COBB COUNTY, GA — A warehouse full of plastic alligator heads off Riverview Road in Cobb County caught fire early Friday morning, and Cobb Fire crews were still at the business extinguishing hot spots.
Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services posted on its Facebook page shortly after noon that the business name is CPI and is near Interstate 285. Crews received the report of a fire from a passerby around 6:05 a.m., the department said.
In addition to the plastic alligator heads, the AJC reported the facility stored Christmas decorations and ornaments. Initially, fire crews were unsure what was inside the warehouse, so they took precautions and brought in the hazmat team. But the fire department said it is not worried about toxic runoff from chemicals from the facility getting into the water used to extinguish the fire, the paper reported.
