Cold Case Unit Brought In to Help Solve Marietta Homicide

Tiffany Whitton's disappearance of more than two years ago is now being treated as a homicide.

MARIETTA, GA -- A cold case unit is being brought in by Cobb County police in the case of a Marietta woman who disappeared more than two years ago.

Chief Assistant DA Jesse Evans has worked Tiffany Whitton’s disappearance since the 26-year-old’s disappearance in September 2013, according to CBS 46. He says his office’s cold case unit brings in another set of eyes to a case that is now being treated as a homicide.

The cold case unit also allows investigators to use some federal grant money.

Whitton was last seen on Sept. 13, 2013 at approximately 2 a.m. in front of the Walmart located at 210 Cobb Parkway. Ashley Caudle, her boyfriend was the last person to see her, and he has since been serving a 10-year prison sentence on drug charges.

Whitton is described as a 27-year-old white female, standing approximately 5-foot-2 and weighing about 100 pounds. She has green eyes and blonde hair, but is known to frequently change the color of her hair.

She has multiple tattoos including Chinese symbols on her left wrist. Whitton also has a young daughter who has not had any contact with her mother since her disappearance.

Organizers of a Facebook page, Find Tiffany Whitton, continues to ask for prayers and leads in the search.
