Dad Drops Son Off at Cobb DFACS, Then Leaves Him Behind
Monte Tnarg Grant has been charged with child abandonment.
Marietta, GA — This is not the most heartwarming Father's Day story you'll ever read.
Marietta police say a Cobb County man drove his son to a local Department of Family and Children Services (DFACS) office, told him to go inside with a note and then left the boy behind.
The note said “Hi, my name is La’Monte Grant and my mother said she doesn’t want me anymore!!!”

The incident happened on June 8, according to the AJC.
The boy was found by county employees who tried unsuccessfully to reach the father, Monte Tnarg Grant. Police issued an arrest warrant for Grant the next day.

Since then, Grant was booked and released on $5,000 bond and has been charged with child abandonment.
Little La'Monte has been placed in protective custody. His mother told police that his father has full custody of the child.
